One thing about living in New England, is small town New England. Our little towns have a charm all their own. The rolling hills to the steeper mountains. The homes that carry the character that only New England homes have. Built in the 17-1800’s and even older. The towns, keeping their craftsmen architecture and the seasons keeping our minds sane and insane all at once. haha.
Right now though, right now we’re talking about the small New England town of Washington – Washington Depot. The town where Gilmore Girls was based and a town that sits quietly in the lower hills southwest of Litchfield.
This town is also where I was meeting Jenny and Greg for their TAB Photographic engagement session. It’s also a town where I met a girl with the lower back tattoo (you can read about that ::here:: )…. Right now though, right now we’re talking about their engagement session at Steep Rock Park which is nestled into a river valley right outside the center of Washington.
Steep Rock Park is a quiet one for sure. The river flows thru the valley, a few fields open up to the wild grasses and the hills on both sides tuck the sun away. I can only imagine what this place looks like when autumn really grabs hold and litters the trees with golds, reds, purples and more!!!
What a place for the engagement session. We started in the fields of gold, or possibly field of thorns (depends if you look at the photos or the blood we all left behind. haha.). Working our way to the river bed, down a dirt road to another spot tucked away on the river and then up into a field to wrap things up.
The weather was pretty much perfect, their laughs and smiles were spectacular and we flew thru the session. And to top all that off, we did it with out any bear encounters, mountain lion stalking or birds of prey attacking. So all in all, I would say it was a pretty great session for sure.
What do you think?
Leave them some love down below, after all the blood that was shed from the thorns, they deserve it. ( even if they were only light scratches. :p )
