The lumberjack and the bumblebee… That’s how this whole thing began. One evening, a lumberjack saw a bumblebee and instead of swatting it away or the likes. He asked for said bumblebees number and well… It all started that night. She gave him her number and they started their dating and fun…

Eolia Mansion Harkness Park Wedding Ct. Wedding Photographers TAB PhotographicIf you knew Andrew and Elizabeth, you would know that they are two of the kindest souls around. Sweet, quiet, practical and full of a love for each other like no other. The way they finish each others thoughts and sentences. It’s such a great thing. And when the night came and they were making dinner together, Andrew, well… It was time for him to ask that questions. Andrew made dinner and placed the engagement ring in a lovely origami bouquet.”

Their day as a whole, the only hiccup was the rain. And it’s not that they were going to mind if it did, in deed rain. As a matter of fact, while they totally embraced it as much as they could, they wanted to embrace it even more! “We regret not being able to have our ceremony in the pergola in the rain. We decided long ago that if the forecast was for rain we would get umbrellas for all our guests and have it outside anyway. Unfortunately the forecast never included rain…until it rained anyway”

All in all though, they didn’t mention the rain and when it came to taking photos, they embraced it as much as they can. Of course Eolia Mansion offers some great photo opportunities all around.

Their day though, what a great family and what awesome friends!!! Their bridal party just as sweet. Everyone fun, peaceful and there to support Elizabeth and Andrew and their wedding day…

For Elizabeth and Andrew, if there was any advice they could give couples, it’s probably one of the top pieces of advice I’ve ever read. “Be sure to love all of your vendors. They will make your day go as smoothly as possible. Everyone was great leading up to the day, but I didn’t really realize how much all of them did until after the fact. Sample all of the wonderful food you picked out for your wedding. We couldn’t have asked for a more delicious first meal as husband and wife. Also, never trust weather reports. Ever.”

Last but not least, THANK YOU Andrew and Elizabeth for inviting into your lives on such an important day. If you only knew what it means to be when a couple invites me into their day. And your day was no different. A beautiful day filled with your soft love and being able to capture that love was magical…. THANK YOU!

“we’re a walking promotion for Match.com”

Interlaken Inn Wedding Lakeville, Ct. TAB photographic Wedding Photographers

It’s pretty crazy how many awesome lives I get invited into… I truly LOVE it! And for Lindsey and Sam, it’s no different. Like many couples, we didn’t actually meet till the engagement session which we rocked out in Brooklyn NY… And for these two, taking care of everything upfront online is fitting since that’s how these two wonderful love birds actually met. “Like all good Millennials, we met online. In fact, we’re a walking promotion for Match.com. After trying other dating sites without success, I made one last ditch effort to find a good catch. I perused the Match.com selections, and kept coming back to Sam’s photo. He really is a handsome devil. The only reason I signed up for the website was to “message” him, and it was well worth the money. We spent weeks of bonding over mutual interests like hiking, boating, and dogs. I actually went to Starbucks every day for internet access in the wake of Hurricane Sandy to message Sam! Finally, we decided to meet. Unfortunately, I needed to have gallbladder surgery a few days before the first date! Disaster! Luckily, Sam was very understanding and it all worked out. After our first date at Miya’s Sushi in New Haven, we both drove home with smiles on our faces and butterflies in our stomachs. The rest, as they say, is history.”

While they did meet online, and did get that excitement building, the dates and adventures were just as awesome. Then, it was this one night, when Sam was departing from one of their many adventures that it happened… The I Love You… “Sam, saying goodbye one evening.” When it just felt right for him… From there, well… From there it was almost disaster. Rain.. HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY RAIN! He was about to propose and it was raining. It’s funny how things work out when their supposed to though and it was that evening when it still rolled on as perfectly as it could ending in happiness and tears and someone falling off the pier into the ocean… “Lindsey and I love to travel. We’ve been to several places together in the North East including Maine and New York, but our trip to Key West over Christmas break was our farthest trip thus far. For one week, we would stay with my family in our Key West home, go scuba diving, swimming, bike riding, eat good food, and visit the Ernest Hemingway House (Lindsey demanded it…she really is a book nerd). I had the perfect Key West proposal planned. My brother and sister rented Lindsey and I a local hotel room for one night. Originally, I was going to propose on the beach in the middle of the afternoon, but unfortunately, it was raining. I had to initiate the back-up plan. Lindsey and I got to our lovely hotel room overlooking the ocean, and got dressed for dinner. The sun was going down, and Lindsey was taking FOREVER to get ready (though she begs to differ). I practically shoved her out the door with the ring in my pocket, hyperventilating that the sun would set before we got downstairs. Ten minutes later, we had walked down to the pier. The clouds had cleared, the mammoth cruise ship that was blocking the sky had left, and we were watching a gorgeous sunset. I slowly brought out the ring box, breathing heavily and sweating profusely. Lindsey was very excited when she saw it, and cried when I opened the box. After some very nice strangers took our picture, we walked off for a surprise celebratory dinner at a local restaurant, and thus began the rest of our lives :)” Okay, maybe no one fell into the ocean off the pier. But could you imagine!

From the proposal came the planning and more. Finding a ton of awesome vendors (which you can find below)… The wedding day itself! OMG!!! So great. A bit windy, and actually, when I asked if there was one thing they would change, they said the wind. They embraced it though and never said word one about it… The bridal party was off the hook awesome and fun and Lindsey and Sam… So wonderful. The waves rolling across the lake as a wonderful backdrop to their ceremony and perfect weather up at the Interlaken Inn in Lakeville for the rest of their reception.

The day was just perfect. And if anything did go in a way which wasn’t planned, no one would have known because I sure didn’t notice a thing. For now though, these two have plans to get moving further on in life. “Build a new home together, travel, and work on building our careers.” And if they could tell you one thing. It’s something I actually try to tell all my couples. To the point I’m thinking about making a t-shirt for my TAB Photographic brides that says “It’s my day, I got this”… Their advice???? “Do what feels natural, and don’t let your family push you around.” Easier said than done I’m sure.

Elizabeth

2015-07-24_0010

After having the weather force us to reschedule our session at least three times…. We found a day when the sun would be shining and it was going to be about 80 degrees with no humidity. I mean… Does it get better than that? Of course, a day later it then said 75 and rain all day… No matter, neither Elizabeth, Matt or myself, said word one about it. I think we were all on the same page, we are shooting no matter what! haha…

2015-07-24_0007

Sure enough, the sun was nowhere to be found. Which, from a photographers stand point, isn’t always a bad thing. Especially when on a beach with no shade. That’s why we always try to aim for later in the day so the sun is a little lower and gives us the best light to work with. The over cast and cloudy sky just meant we would be having more fun thru the entire session. Not to mention, a beach with barely anyone on it. And fun is what we did. It was a great time with these two and with their August wedding day rapidly sneaking up on us their energy was crazy excitement and full of love… (other than Matt trying to shoot me… But Elizabeth saved my life so all was good….)

2015-07-24_0014

Now it will be on to the wedding day coming up in the future, which again, with out a doubt… Will be spectacular!!!!

It’s always a great thing when a wedding day rolls around. I wake up ready to rock out the time where I will have my awesome Nikons over my shoulders to capture the moments, create some others and to rock out the day.

And while it’s always great when the wedding is an adventure and a days worth of travels away. It’s also great when it’s 15 minutes away as was the case for Danielle and Luke’s wedding as Rosedale Farms & Vineyard in Simbury, Ct. I mean… What a place to have an intimate tented wedding. The vineyards on one side, growing fields on the other. And this day, was just as beautiful as one could hope for. Sure, it was a bit toasty, but that beats a blizzard any day.

When I got to Danielle’s house, it was a nice and peaceful morning. And it was a home made into a salon with out a doubt. I guess that’s what happens when you work at an awesome salon such as Danielle does. All her friends and co-workers getting everyone put together and all set for what will surely be a beautiful wedding…. Her mom in one corner, smiling at times, tears at other times. Her sister, enjoying the moments over on a stool, also a quiet tear at times, being followed by laughter. All in all, it was a great “thing” to walk into and witness and capture.

From there it was off to Rosedale Farms for that first look. Where Luke could finally turn around to see his stunning bride standing behind him. That building energy, the quiet moment… The anticipation….

And after that, the day begins to turn into a whirlwind. They get things wrapped up for the ceremony and as quick as it started, it was over. Seriously, it felt like it was 3 minutes long. Beautiful all the same but it flew by. I think it was a combination of the backdrop and vineyard as a whole. Giving this energy where it just wanted to be photographed, to these two just wanting so badly to be husband and wife… From there it was priceless speeches, a trip to the giant sycamore tree in Simsbury. First dances, and last dances. Great food which was catered by the MAX Group, and a rockin’ fun party where the dance floor was packed….

It was, with out a question, a beautiful wedding on a beautiful day for these two beautiful souls……

Colt Park Bristol RI Engagement SessionsSo not that long about, about two months or so, I was invited into this awesome wedding at The Barns At Wesleyan Hills and while I was shooting the bride and groom, the wedding party made their way down to the area we were shooting away at. Right from the start, it was a great time. So great that upon meeting one of the groomsmen, he said “You need to shoot my wedding”… Later in the night I was talking to him again as well as his finance and they were such an awesome couple.

Colt Park Bristol RI Engagement SessionsExchanging info real quick and touching base a couple days after, we all hit it off and wrapped up their wedding details and set up the engagement session. Then there were crazy storms… And we scheduled the engagement session again. Then it was raining, and we rescheduled the engagement session one more time. Then… Guess what… We were stormed out again. Then finally, the day came and we met up at Colt Park in Bristol RI… What a great evening. The weather cooperated and day was simply beautiful…

We started with some relaxed fun shots with one of their pups and some tasty treats… Then moved further into the park. Playing on the walls, in the trees and on the beach… The sun going down, seeing them walk hand in hand, playing along the water, sitting and laughing, just rolling with the connection that they brought together when they “first met” at a bar… It really is as easy as that… All in all… The shoot was a great time and the wedding will be so great great great… Can’t wait to capture all the moments for Jason and Anna because it will be, with out a doubt… Stellar!!!

Farmington Gardens Wedding Farmington Ct. Wedding Photographers TAB Photographic www.tabphotographic.comSo this couple, Kathleen and David… They have this love and this energy that’s calm. Like the know what the other is about to do before the other, is indeed, about to do it… And that was obvious right from the engagement session. They have this way of falling into a calmness with each other and just rolling thru the moments… Their engagement session was on a beautiful day in downtown Essex and went as smoothly as could be… (which, you can see in the video if you watched it.

Farmington Gardens Wedding Farmington Ct. Wedding Photographers TAB Photographic www.tabphotographic.comHowever, we’re not here to really talk about their engagement session. We’re here because their wedding day was just as spectacular. I won’t say there weren’t nerves because that would be a lie. They both had this adorable nervousness to them. Really because they just wanted to see each other more than anything else. And once the prepping was done, it was off to Farmington Gardens in Farmington, Ct. where it was time for the first look.

The energy was high, the love was flowing and when David turned around and saw Kathleen, in her beautiful dress. A backless lace wedding dress that was elegantly simple and incredibly beautiful. Kathleen, the tears running down, David, repeating “wow” time and time again. Obviously he was left speechless…

Farmington Gardens Wedding Farmington Ct. Wedding Photographers TAB Photographic www.tabphotographic.comFarmington Gardens Wedding Farmington Ct. Wedding Photographers TAB Photographic www.tabphotographic.comFrom there, we rocked out the bridal party and family photos all before we even cruised thru the beautiful ceremony. All the friends and relatives looking on. Some with smiles, some with happy tears. Guests coming from all over the world to witness this couples beautiful love and beautiful new beginning.

The reception, party time for sure. With the solid staff at Farmington Gardens, the food and the music. The rest of the night was incredibly awesome and well… If you weren’t there, it was one to surely wish you could have been…

In the mean time, enjoy the photos, slideshow and more. And thank YOU for swinging thru and checking out Kathleen and David’s day at Farmington Gardens.
